KABOOM

We're in the midst of being hit by a MASSIF smoke cloud here in Tufnell Park Towers. Apparently the explosion was heard as far away as Holland. I of course slept soundly through it. Ahem.

Smoke rolls across Highgate Hill and onwards to Tufnell Park (click for big)

That's a pretty big lot of smoke *cough*

As seen over:

Crouch End
Waterloo Bridge
Hemel Hempstead
St. Albans

Ah, my little sound sleeper.

Great pictures, but too bad about the petrol. The story said they warned people not to panic-buy. By now, every single gas station in the US would be dry...not a single drop left. That's how we roll here in the U.S. of A. All panic, all the time.

Good pictures. I'm looking forward to a week of panic buying, especially the people who go the garage and put 2 litres in to top it up.
Maybe the government should employ a Dad's Army Jones type character to shout 'Don't panic! Don't panic!' when anything like this happens.

it was like "broken news" on bbc one this morning. they just sort of had it on a loop - no information whatsoever, but they kept on saying it anyway.

apparently, the police chief has advised people "not to go into the smoke".

really? so glad there are experts on hand.....

I didn't hear a thing either...do you think people will go about wearing masks like they did when there was the SARS epidemic?

Clear skies here, hurragh! That lot are SO careless with their explosive things.

*quickly removes any traces of news stories covering explosions in Wales from the interweb*
